Burnsville Center
Burnsville Center is located 18 miles south of downtown Minneapolis, at the intersection of I-35W and I-35E. This mall is owned by CBL & Associates, Inc. and it was built in 1977 on a former farmland. It is a regional mall comprising over 1 million square feet of retail space with an interesting design: glass tower elevators and fountains which give a classy atmosphere.
JC Penney, Macy's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Sears and Steve & Barry's are the anchor tenants of this mall. In addition to these there are more than 150 shops and services, with Kirkland's Home, Ann Taylor Loft, Eddie Bauer, Buckle, Old Navy and American Eagle as noteworthy major retailers. There are 11 eateries in the food court and 4 additional full-service restaurants. The shops and restaurants are usually open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturday and from 11:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The mall is a somewhat upscale, with prices that may prove to be inaccessible for some. Family-friendly amenities include the possibility to rent strollers and the family restroom. Even though there is no cinema at this mall, you may find it interesting to visit Earley Lake Park or Twin Lakes Park, which are in the proximity of the mall. Parking is ample and free, but there are garages or valet parking services available.
There have been no notable security incidents in the recent past, except for the usual thefts and shopliftings.
